Golf passes that expire Dec 31: what to know before the Jan 1 rollover

By the ParPass team · Updated · Based on 66 passes in 37 metros, verified Oct 17, 2026

Many golf passes run on the calendar year, so a pass bought in October may have only weeks left. As of Oct 17, 2026 there are 75 days until Dec 31. This guide lists the passes in our data that end with the year, when their 2027 versions go on sale where we know it, and the remaining-term math.

Passes that end with the calendar year

16 passes in our data say they expire Dec 31 or run for the calendar year:

The remaining-term math

Break-even is measured in rounds, so a short term means you have fewer chances to hit it. Take Philadelphia's Byrne Unlimited Membership: $1,800, valid through Dec 31, 2026, and 67 rounds to break even in its typical scenario. That is 67 rounds in 75 days, or nearly one a day. Compare that with Tucson's Tucson Mega Pass, whose 2026 term ends Dec 31 and which our data says "only makes sense if you will play a great many rounds right away."

Cheap cards are less sensitive. Milwaukee's Players Discount Card costs $25 and pays back in 5 rounds, so even a short remaining season can clear it, weather permitting. Divide the price by the saving, then ask whether you can play that many rounds before Dec 31.

When the 2027 versions go on sale

Few issuers publish next year's pricing this early, so most 2027 prices are still unknown. What we have verified:

Passes that do not roll over on Jan 1

Not every pass follows the calendar. Salt Lake City's 2026 passes ran March 15 to November 15, 2026 and expire March 14, 2027, and new passes go on sale March 1. Boston's season permit runs from purchase through Feb 28, 2027. Myrtle Beach's Golf Passport is valid through July 31, 2027. Many of the one-year cards in our data, such as Phoenix and Sacramento, run 12 months from the purchase date.

A buy-now vs. wait checklist

  1. Find the end date on the pass page. If it is Dec 31, count the days left.
  2. Estimate the rounds you will actually play before then, weather included.
  3. Compare that with the break-even. If you fall short, skip the pass and pay per round.
  4. If a 2027 pass goes on sale soon, as in Denver, decide whether to wait for it instead.
  5. Check cancellation rules. Many passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Numbers on this page are computed from the ParPass database, where every row links to the issuer's official page. Prices change; confirm with the issuer before you buy. Break-even uses the first listed rate scenario on each pass page. See the methodology. This is general information, not financial advice.
